New Dog to muzyczny projekt Anara Badalova, za dnia wydawcy książek, a nocą starzejącego się boksera-amatora i muzyka. Anar, dawniej członek zespołów Metal Hearts (Suicide Squeeze Records) i Travels, a obecnie połowa Hourloupe & ARANANAR, intensywnie koncertował w USA i Europie.
Po drodze dzielił scenę z takimi artystami jak Six Organs of Admittance, Angels of Light, Akron/Family, Murder by Death, Chad VanGaalen, Big Thief, Mi and L’au, David Bazan, Black Heart Procession i Kristin Hersh.
Jego muzykę opisywano jako „zarówno złowrogą, jak i miłosną jednocześnie” oraz „intymnie napiętą i pełną emocji”.
