School of Iberian Languages Porto Alegre and Alchemia present the periodical Review of Iberian Cinema CINE PORTO ALEGRE.

CINE PORTO ALEGRE gives you the chance to see big pictures rarely shown in Poland.

04/ 24/ 2007 – FAMILIA, dir. Fernando Leon de Aranoa, 102 min., Spain 1996

05/ 17/ 2007 – SUITE HAVANA, dir. Fernando Perez, 84 min., Spain/ Cuba 2003
A portrait of the city that shows the nature of its inhabitants and their every day life. The plot is one long day where the camera accompanies few related persons. The images, sounds and music are what describe every day life. The characters are the coherent part of colorful mosaic of Havana’s social groups.

05/ 23/ 2007 – MEXICAN SHORT FILM – projection organized with International Film Festival “Etiuda & Anima”. The screenings of the best short films and feature films from film school in Mexico.

06/ 04/ 2007 – MERCANO THE MARSIAN, dir. Juan Antin, 72 min., Argentina 2002
Argentinean animated feature movie. It’s antiglobalist story about a friendly alien and his kind-of-dog that is killed by the falling probe. Mercano, who wants the revenge, takes a trip to the Earth, he arrives in Buenos Aires where he gets stuck because his spaceship breaks down. Soon after he joins in the young anarchist group and fights with them against the supranational corporations.

06/ 12/ 2007 – THE ROAD IN THE CLOUDS, dir. Vicente Amorim, 87 min., Brazil 2003
Road movie full of emotions and warmness, inspired by a true story of unemployed illiterate from the province of Pariba, who decides to go with his family to Rio de Janeiro to look for better life. They cannot afford the bus tickets so they decide to traverse 3000 km on bicycles.
