 | | VALENTINE TRIO
 CRACOW JAZZ FALL 2009
 A brand new Valentine trio!
The best free jazz!
Fred Lonberg-Holm (USA) - cello
David Stackenäs (Norwegia) - guitar
Patric Thorman (Szwecja) - bass
A brand new Valentine trio!
Fred Lonberg-Holm, Vandermark 5’s cellist, created this trio in 2002 with bassist Jason Roebke and drummer Glenn Kotche.
They released three albums as a triptych: a Valentine for Fred Katz, Other valentines and Terminal valentine (Frank Rosaly replaced Kotche after the first one).
Dedicated to West Coast jazz cellist Fred Katz, this music has deep sensibility. Mixing covers from all kinds of artists (Sun Ra, Syd Barrett, Cat Power…) and compositions, these musicians know how to make listeners go through different deep emotions with music we can consider as free chamber music.
From now, on Patric Thorman replaces Roebke on bass, and the great Swedish guitar player David Stackenas - who played with Mats Gustafsson, Evan Parker or even Ken Vandermark - comes in, creating an all chords band.
You don’t want to miss it!
