The Lvov’s Days in Krakow

Their music is built on a mix of folk elements rooted in Ukrainian tradition, with jazz experienced in Poland and innovative idea of World music.

Jazz inspired by folk.

Ihor Hnydyn — drums
Anastasija Łytwyniuk — keyboards
Serhij Brydun — bass guitar
Wołodymyr Urban — alt saxophone

The band was founded in June 2004, as a result of searching the point where jazz, funk, ethno and electronic music meet. The group performed in many international festivals, such as: «Jazz Bez» (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008), «Fluhery Lwowa»/ «Wiatrowskazy Lwowa»/ «Weathercocks of Lvov» (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), «MetroJazz» (2005), «Jednist»/ «Jedność»/ «Unity» (2007), «Starzy i Młodzi, czyli jazz w Krakowie»/ «The elder and the youth, that is jazz in Krakow» (2007), «Art-machine» as a part of the project «Wilno – Europejska Stolica Kultury 2009»/ «Vilnus – The European Art Capital 2009», «Kontury Doswidu»/ «Kontury Doświadczenia»/ «The Outlines of Experience» (2007) – Ukrainian-Lithuanian performance, «Jazz Fest» (Sumy 2008), «XIX Festiwal Kultury Ukraińskiej»/ «The 9th Ukrainian Culture Festival» (Sopot, Poland 2008).
The band‘s members at some point participated in workshops being a part of Ministry Of Culture and National Heritage‘s scholarship «Gaude Polonia» thought by the legends of Polish jazz: Andrzej Jagodziński (piano), Czesław Bartkowski (drums), Janusz Szrom (jazz vocal).
ShockolaD cooperates with well-known Polish musicians – Michał Jaros (double bass), Tomasz Dąbrowski (trumpet).
As a surprise for Polish fans the band will perform few pieces with Juliusz Slowacki’s lyrics, whose 200-birthday anniversary the World celebrates this year.
