OFF OFF Festival
The concert takes place at RE Club
We were born in august of 2006 as a duo of drums/guitar/junk/electronics/vocals reaching towards the distant lights of daniel wang, african disco and gamelan. It came out very different than we expected, as it should be with all things. In august of 2007, Jacob joined us and the holy trinity was completed. It is what it is unless it's something else. Mi ami lives.

Quarterstick Records, Touch and Go's partner label for the last 17-plus years, is pleased to welcome San Francisco-based drum punk trio Mi Ami to the folds. Featuring two key members of Dischord's hyper-percussive Black Eyes (Daniel Martin-McCormick on vocals and guitar, and Jacob Long on bass) as well as Damon Palermo on drums, Mi Ami builds on the promise of Black Eyes' spastic energy and renowned live performances, but steers it into a more focused, volatile, and personal direction.
Mi Ami's first single on Quarterstick, Echononecho, will be released as a 12" and digitally January 27, 2009, with the follow-up full length, Watersports, out February 17, 2009. The band fully takes flight and thrives in the live setting, with shows turning into all-out pulsating rhythmic throwdowns, so save up some energy and be sure to catch them on their extensive tours throughout 2009.
More than anything else, Mi Ami believes the music is the message, and that message is meant to be shared. The perfect live show is a transformative experience, and the band dreams of creating \'literal sound spaces that blur the line between the mechanical, electrical, and living.\' They want to take sound to another place - where what you.re hearing at a show is only a small part of what that song actually is . to where the noise becomes multidimensional, physical, overwhelming, and freeing.
