 Gig is cancelled
After a long time playing music on the streets and a short experience in the 80s with a band Pudelsi, Maciej Malenczuk has decided to create his own group. That’s how the Homo Twist has begun in 1993.
rock/ song
Maciej Lucyfer de Santa Maria Malenczuk – guitar, vocal
Lala Digidajmon Daginevar Lewicki – electronics
Tomasz dr Potwór Dominik – drums
Olaf Deriglasoff – basshelterskelterebrotherdesopott, bass guitar
The original members of the band, besides Malenczuk, had jazz backround – Leszek „Miarka“ Kowal and Grzegorz Schneider. At the end of the year they had recorded their first album called „All This Sex“, which had been published in the beginning of 1994. Maciek was the author of all the lyrics and compositions that came from the period when Malenczuk was still playing on the streets. His lyrics got a new rock backround. A complete sound together with charismatic vocal had created an extraordinary atmosphere and made the record „All This Sex“ Maciek’s the first artistic succes.
Shortly after the record came out, the members of the band had changed – Franz Dreadhunter on bass and Artur Hajdasz joined the group. The trio published the second album called simply „Homo Twist“. The music and lyrics seemed to be stronger and heavier.
Malenczuk had been under the influence of Kaman and Emily Dickinson. The guest stars were Wojtek Waglewski, Rafal Kwasniewski, Pudel, among the others. This record, published in 1996, turned to be the best rock album of the year.
One year later came out their third album. There were some changes made in the band as well – Olaf Deriglasoff had replaced Dreadhunter. He brought new punk sounding. The record called „Moniti Revan“ published in 1997 got great reviews from the music journalists and, most important, the audience. The songs are now more psychodelic with „homo twist“ atmosphere. There is no space to step back – the band is still moving forward. The compositions are more solid. Malenczuk had created his own language – he mixed different words and gave them new meaning.
